The process brought knowledge and insights together in a way where problems and priorities are seen in the context of a broader system. Tools used to make different options and scenarios clear so that after consultation and weighing of priorities, the best decisions made for each site.
IUCN ROWA in cooperation with the Agricultural Resources Management Project in Kerak, Maan and Tafelah Governorates organized three workshops, one in each governorate, under the patronage of H.E. the Secretary General at the Ministry of Agriculture aiming at presenting the achievements of the project in each site.
This included a brief about each community, the problems they face and the Community Environmental Management Plan (CEMP) that was prepared by each community. Each community had also the opportunity to discuss their capability to adapt their strategies into governmental development plan.
The vision to manage the proposed projects sustainably was highlighted as well as the strategic plans to improve this vision and implement it on the ground. This helped in narrowing the gap between local communities and governmental institutions, where each institution took responsibility to handle the communities’ problems within its field.
