Water Governance

As part of the RKNOW thematic areas, this knowledge node will help showcase best practices in the management approach for the water sector, relevant stakeholders in management and highlight cooperation relationships. This portal will also help identify ways and tools to better engage all stakeholders in policy, regulation and startegy formation.

Water governance refers to the range of political, social, economic and administrative systems which directly or indirectly affect the use, development and management of water resources and provisions of water services at different levels of society. Importantly, the water sector is a part of broader social, political and economic developments and is thus also affected by decisions outside of the water sector.

Below you will find tools, methodologies, guidelines and more on how to better facilitate water governance in your area.

The responsible RKNOW partner for this knowledge node is the Internationl Union for Conservation of Nature, Regional Office for West Asia (IUCN ROWA), The Society for the Protection of Nature in Lebanon (SPNL) and supported by the Arab Women Organization (AWO).
